- 1 package chickpeas
- 1-2 packages kidneybeans
- salt, pepper
- egg (if vegetarian rather than vegan)
- Mash kidneybeans and chickpeas, keep some of the liquid from the kidneybeans.
- Mix eggs, spices and breadcrumbs, add the kidneybean liquid for juicier steaks.
- Don't make the steaks too thick, kind of like croquettes.
- Fry on high heat in butter (or oil/vegan butter) and lower the heat when the steaks have a crisp surface.
- Then, add any spices as you wish.
Cumin is nice.
